    Product description

A Malaise Trap is used for the collection of flying insects - particularly hymenoptera and diptera. The Malaise Trap is a tent like structure - insects fly into the screen and migrate to the highest point where a collection head is situated. The head can be a plain bottle, a dry or wet killing bottle. These traps will catch very large numbers of small insects and a conservation policy over their use should be maintained.

The trap is supplied in 3 versions: black and white, all white, or all black. It is complete with collecting head, spare bottles, filters, pegs, and guys. The seams are all constructed with reinforcing tape and tie points are sewn into the trap. The malaise trap is only available without a set of aluminium poles. You can easily make them yourself. The design of the collecting head has been kept very simple to enable users to modify or replace parts easily in the field.

    Includes:

    • Collecting head
    • Spare plastic collecting bottle (300ml)
    • Plastic pegs
    • Jubilee clips for attaching the head to the main support post
    • Strong nylon guy ropes
