The Clippy EM272Z1 XLR uses the acclaimed Primo EM272 capsule, made in Japan. This capsule is extremely low noise (typical 14 dBA self noise) and high sensitivity (-28 dB).

The unique electronic design by Fel Communications provides a regulated 8 volts to the capsule whether the unit is powered from 12, 24 or 48 volt phantom. 1.5 m fully screened flexible but strong Mogami cable. NEUTRIK black metal XLR with gold plated pins. 12 volt operation to help increase battery life on portable recorders.

The EM272Z1 capsule is used extensively by ASMR artists where it's low noise and high sensitivity make it really shine. That makes it very useful for bird watchers who wants to record bird sounds at the best quality available.

An Absolute Masterpiece! Beyond Perfection! (Plus a Brutal Customs Warning!) First of all, huge greetings from Turkey to the incredible Veldshop team and their phenomenal customer service! I ordered the Clippy XLR EM272Z1 Stereo Microphone Full Kit, and it arrived safely at my doorstep in Turkey. Out of the box, it looks and feels way more professional than the pictures can ever capture—the build quality is simply breathtaking. When I tested the sound quality for the first time, I was completely blown away! The noise floor is practically nonexistent, capturing the crispest, most pristine details of nature, distant breezes, and subtle whispers with unbelievable clarity. It is an absolute beast for field recording. A crucial warning for buyers from Turkey: Be ready for a nasty surprise at customs! Between customs duties, brokerage fees, and extra charges, it cost me around €305 in total extra expenses. Honestly? You might be better off flying to the Netherlands yourself to pick it up—it would probably be cheaper and much less painful! Do not think I am exaggerating—this shop and this gear deserve every single ounce of praise in the world, but Turkish customs are no joke. This is definitely not my last purchase; I am coming back for more! Thank you, Veldshop! You guys are legends!
