The geographical scope of the Western Palaearctic herein encompasses the vast territory stretching from the Azores and Canary Islands through Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and the Caucasus, extending to the eastern slopes of the Ural Mountains, western Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, as well as the eastern borders of Turkmenistan and Iran.
