The purpose of this book is to increase the knowledge of and the respect for the herpetofauna of Corfu and its satellite islands and to create a preliminary benchmark for the present status and biology of their amphibians and reptiles. We hope it will stimulate further work and contribute to a better understanding and protection of these animals and their environment.
