About the author
Phil Spence gained an international reputation as an outstanding grower and hybridiser of orchids and his reputation is well documented and recognized by the many publications, local and international journals, and by his participation in orchid conferences. He has the honor of being the first person to have an article published as a Supplement to Orchids — The Bulletin of the American Orchid Society, Oct. 2010. Phil is a life member of several orchid societies and has been awarded The Award Of Honour of The Australian Orchid Foundation. The species Dendrobium spenceanum is named after him.
