Where available, the author has included the different colour phases of these snakes, as well as colour phases from outside Singapore to illustrate their diversity. Numerous photographs illustrate dorsal, lateral and ventral aspects of each species, enabling a more precise differentiation from other similar-looking species. Where sexes differ in appearance, the two sexes are illustrated as much as possible.
