BE1 Bat entrance stone for built-in bat boxes from BNB box. This stone is embedded in the facade to provide bats with access to the cavity or built-in features. The entrance stone is 21.5 cm wide, 11 cm high, and 10 cm deep.
The stone is built into the brickwork so that it aligns with the entrance to the bat boxes. Ideally, the boxes and entrance stone should be placed in multiple locations on the facade at different heights and wind directions. The stone is made of durable wood-concrete. The rough surface is specially designed to provide bats with a good grip.
These entrance stones can also be used as standalone features to provide access to a cavity. Alternatively, the stone can be set further into the brickwork with stone strips as a finish, leaving only the entrance itself visible.
Depending on the cavity and the structure behind the stone, this entrance can be used by Nathusius's pipistrelles, common pipistrelles, serotine bats, common long-eared bats, and pond bats.
