The hide Buteo Mark III Green is an ideal one-person tent for nature and bird photography. This latest model in the Buteo series has been developed based on feedback from users and experienced photographers. Thanks to clever improvements, the hide offers better protection against rain and keeps you dry even in wet conditions. The redesigned photo and viewing windows provide excellent visibility and ease of use, making it easier than ever to capture sharp and natural images.
Exterior Hide
The Buteo Mark III Green has been upgraded with clever design improvements that make it much more resistant to rain. At the front, an extra canopy prevents water from entering through the insect mesh and protects the lens from moisture. It also acts as a sunshade, keeping the photo window in shadow and reducing reflections. The canopy can be folded away when not needed, which also makes the tent less visible and more stable in windy conditions.
The roof features a stronger structure with durable fiberglass poles, preventing water from pooling on top. The set includes eight sturdy black aluminum pegs, eighteen centimeters long and triangular in shape, offering more strength than earlier versions. All zippers come with pull cords instead of Velcro, eliminating unwanted noise. Every window can be fully closed with zippers to keep the interior dry.
Interior Hide
All windows and insect meshes can be operated from the inside using zippers. The cords, storage pockets, and pole holders are brightly colored for better visibility in low light. Extra fiberglass poles on the inside of the roof keep the shape round and allow water to run off easily. An instruction label is included inside.
Photo and Viewing Windows
The photo windows are larger than before, measuring forty by thirty-six centimeters. The upper part of each window also serves as a viewing window, so separate small openings are no longer needed. Double-sided zippers let you adjust the window size as you prefer. All windows can be completely sealed with high-quality zippers, both inside and outside. No Velcro is used, ensuring quiet operation.
The insect meshes are attached with zippers and can be fully opened. You can also fit a snoot or other lens cover if desired. The mesh consists of two overlapping parts with elastic edges that fit snugly around the lens. The front meshes are positioned vertically, allowing flexibility in height, while the left and right sides are horizontal for easier side movement when filming or photographing.
Photo windows are placed at three different heights across three sides of the hide. In rainy weather, the outer fabric can be zipped up around the lens, keeping the hide closed while allowing photography to continue. Unused sides can be partially opened as viewing windows, adjustable to your preferred size.
Carry Bag
The carry bag has a longer, adjustable shoulder strap for comfortable transport. A separate pocket on top provides space for accessories such as pegs and guy ropes.
Photographing from the tent
The spacious entrance features a high-quality zipper that stays neatly to the side when opened. Behind the door is an insect mesh with the same camouflage pattern, keeping the hide well concealed even when partially open. Inside, a black coating ensures darkness, while colored zipper pulls and edge linings make everything easy to find in low light.
Photo and viewing windows are positioned at three heights: two at the front (eye level and lower) and on both sides at a slightly lower level. Each window includes an insect mesh made of two overlapping elastic sections that fit closely around your lens. When it rains, the outer fabric can be closed, allowing you to keep shooting while staying protected from the elements.
The insect meshes can be opened partly or fully, letting you adjust the window size as needed. The wide viewing windows give a clear view of the surroundings, and the same applies to the side windows. A smaller, waterproof viewing window is included in the rear door. There is enough room inside for a chair, a tripod with camera, and a photo backpack or bag. A front pocket provides extra space for smaller items.
