Product description

The Belgian Bout No. 2 is a 100% natural yellow whetstone (Coticule Jaune Standard) sourced from the Belgian Ardennes. Due to its unique geological composition, this stone contains around 35–40% garnet crystals, giving it excellent sharpening properties and a very fine texture. The Coticule has a grit comparable to 6000, making it ideal for refining and polishing knives and tools.

Each stone is a natural product and may vary slightly in size and weight, with an average dimension of 90 × 30 millimetres and a weight of approximately 118 grams. Ardennes-Coticule whetstones are non-porous and should be used only with a little water. During sharpening, a natural slurry forms that produces an exceptionally smooth and sharp edge. The relatively delicate yellow stone is securely bonded to a slate base for added stability. This base itself does not have any sharpening function.
