Deze Bynolyt Buzzard 10x42 presteert bovengemiddeld goed; een beeldveld (FOV) van 136m/1000m (u heeft de vliegende vogel zó in beeld), een apochromatisch lenzenstelsel met field-flattener en de uitneembare eye-cups (schoonmaken!) komt men normaliter slechts in de TOP klasse tegen. Dit maakt de kijker wel wat zwaarder dan gemiddeld, bijna 900 gram. Waar weer tegenover staat dat de handligging door de gewichtsverdeling weer prima is qua stabiliteit. Ook het eye-relief (de afstand van het oculair tot het oog) is voorbeeldig met 18mm. Is er iets aan te merken op deze kijker? Jazeker, maar dat is overkomelijk; de objectief doppen zijn namelijk erg goedkoop uitgevallen en bij een beetje wind ontnemen de opwaaiende doppen je regelmatig je gezicht. Verlies van een dop is bovendien denkbaar. Ik heb deze doppen vervangen door een alternatief. Samengevat: deze kijker is een verborgen pareltje voor wie iets echt goeds zoekt, maar niet ‘de bank wil breken’ zoals de Engelsen zeggen. Een kijker die ook bij mijn, toch al kritische blik, heel weinig onderdoet voor de dure topmerken
