The HI4115 is a combination electrode for measuring silver (Ag⁺) and sulfide (S²⁻). The electrode contains both the measuring and reference electrode in one body. The reference is a silver/silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) electrode and the sensor uses a silver/sulfide membrane. The body is made of durable PEI plastic and is filled with potassium nitrate electrolyte.
It has a cone-style junction, which provides a stable reference potential and a steady flow of electrolyte into the sample. The electrolyte can be easily emptied and refilled from the top of the electrode.
The HI4115 measures silver from 1 µM to 1 M and sulfide from 0.1 µM to 1 M. For accurate measurements, keep the ionic strength constant using an ISA solution for silver and a SAOB buffer for sulfide. SAOB keeps the pH above 12 and prevents sulfide oxidation, ensuring stable results.
