The Hanna Instruments HI98311 DiST®5 is a compact, waterproof EC/TDS/temperature tester designed for fast and reliable measurements of electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), and temperature. Its pocket-sized design makes it easy to carry and ideal for measurements directly at the sampling location.
The HI98311 measures conductivity from 0 to 3999 µS/cm, TDS from 0 to 2000 ppm (mg/L), and temperature from 0.0 to 60.0 °C. Automatic temperature compensation helps maintain reliable readings when sample temperature changes. Both the temperature coefficient and TDS conversion factor can be adjusted to suit different applications.
The supplied HI73311 graphite electrode can be replaced quickly and easily. Its robust snap-in connector helps prevent bent or damaged pins during electrode replacement. The graphite sensing material is also less susceptible to contamination from salt deposits, helping maintain consistent measurement performance.
The HI98311 features automatic one-point EC/TDS calibration, a stability indicator, and an ATC indicator. The display shows the remaining battery level, while the HOLD function allows the current reading to be locked on the screen. Automatic shut-off after 8 minutes helps conserve battery power.
The waterproof, floating housing provides additional protection during routine water measurements. The HI98311 DiST®5 is suitable for applications including water testing, hydroponics, aquariums, swimming pools, ponds, and other situations where EC, TDS, and temperature measurements are required.
