The Kowa TSN-99A Prominar is a high-quality spotting scope for demanding nature and birdwatching applications. Its large 99mm fluorite crystal objective lens is combined with Kowa XD optics and advanced lens coatings. This results in a clear, high-contrast and detailed image, even in less favourable light conditions. The Kowa TSN-99A Prominar is available in two variants: as a spotting scope body only or as a complete set with the Kowa TE-11WZ II 30-70x zoom eyepiece. This allows you to choose between using an existing eyepiece or purchasing a complete observation setup.
The Prominar objective uses an artificially grown fluorite crystal with extremely low dispersion. This significantly reduces chromatic aberration, particularly at high magnifications. Combined with Kowa XD optics and advanced coatings, the TSN-99A provides a sharp and natural-looking image with excellent colour reproduction.
The Kowa spotting scope also features a dual focus mechanism with both quick and fine focusing. The large focus knob allows you to quickly bring the subject into focus, while the fine focus enables precise adjustment of the image. This is particularly useful at high magnifications, during extended observation sessions and when digiscoping.
The body of the Kowa TSN-99A is made from a 100% magnesium alloy, combining a robust construction with a relatively low weight. The housing is fully waterproof and nitrogen sealed. The combination of the durable housing and Kowa KR coating on the optics makes the spotting scope suitable for reliable use in a wide range of weather conditions.
The Kowa TSN-99A is fully compatible with the KOWA SYSTEM, allowing eyepieces and accessories to be easily attached. With suitable adapters, the spotting scope can also be used for digiscoping with a smartphone, mirrorless camera or DSLR camera. This makes the TSN-99A suitable for birdwatching, nature observation and capturing images through the spotting scope.
For extended observation sessions, the use of a sturdy tripod is recommended. The TSN-99A features 1/4" and 3/8" tripod mounting threads. A tripod with a fluid-damped head can provide additional comfort when tracking moving subjects and helps ensure a stable viewing experience.
TE-11WZ II Zoom Eyepiece The Kowa TSN-99A Prominar with TE-11WZ II (440991) is supplied with the Kowa TE-11WZ II 30-70x zoom eyepiece. This wide-angle eyepiece offers a variable magnification from 30x to 70x and features two XD lenses for a sharp and clear image. The eyepiece is waterproof and features an adjustable Twist-up eyecup, making it suitable for both eyeglass and non-eyeglass wearers. The version without an eyepiece is ideal if you already own a compatible Kowa eyepiece or prefer to select one yourself.
