The Kowa Spotting Scope TSN-88A Prominar combines outstanding optical performance with a compact, lightweight and durable design. Its high-quality 88mm pure fluorite crystal objective lens delivers exceptional sharpness, contrast and natural colour reproduction. Improved coatings on the lenses and prisms provide higher light transmission, resulting in bright and detailed images, even in challenging lighting conditions.
The body is constructed from 100% magnesium alloy, making the Kowa TSN-88A both strong and relatively lightweight. The spotting scope is fully waterproof, nitrogen-filled and features Kowa's improved KR coating, which helps repel dirt, dust and moisture from the lens surface. This makes it a reliable spotting scope for demanding outdoor use.
Exceptional optical performance
The 88mm Prominar fluorite crystal objective lens virtually eliminates chromatic aberration (colour fringing). This significantly reduces unwanted purple and blue edges around subjects, delivering sharp images with excellent contrast and natural colours. Combined with Kowa XD lens technology and improved optical coatings, the TSN-88A provides outstanding performance, even at high magnifications.
Precise dual focusing
The Kowa TSN-88A features a dual focus mechanism with both quick and fine focusing. The large focusing knob allows you to quickly bring your subject into view, while the fine focus control provides precise adjustments for maximum image sharpness. This is particularly useful at high magnifications and when digiscoping.
Includes Kowa TE-11WZ II wide-angle eyepiece
This version comes with the Kowa TE-11WZ II wide-angle zoom eyepiece, offering variable magnification from 25x to 60x. It features two XD lenses for excellent image sharpness and colour reproduction. Its waterproof construction and three-position twist-up eyecup ensure comfortable viewing for both eyeglass wearers and non-eyeglass wearers.
Durable design and versatile applications
The Kowa TSN-88A Prominar is fully waterproof and nitrogen-filled. Its smoothly rotating sunshade helps reduce glare and protects the objective lens against external elements. The dual tripod mounting system provides a stable connection and is compatible with both 1/4" and 3/8" tripod heads.
The 95mm filter thread allows you to attach a protective or UV filter. The TSN-88A is fully compatible with the Kowa System, offering extensive digiscoping possibilities with smartphones, mirrorless cameras and DSLR cameras. Various accessories for applications such as astronomy are also available.
