The Aquila Mark III Green is the latest two-person hide, developed based on feedback from users and photographers. The tent is more resistant to rain, keeps you dry in wet conditions, and provides improved photo and viewing windows for maximum convenience.
Exterior of the tent
The tent has extra overhangs on three sides. They prevent water from entering through the insect mesh and protect the lens from rain. The overhangs also act as a sunshade, keeping the photo window in shadow and less visible. The overhangs can be folded away when not needed, making the tent less noticeable and more wind-resistant when left for longer periods.
The structure is reinforced with longer poles reaching to the ground, keeping the tent stable and maintaining its shape. The tent includes eight robust stakes made of black aluminum, eighteen centimeters long and triangular in shape. All zippers have strong cords to prevent annoying noises. All windows are fully closable and keep water out.
Interior of the tent
All windows and insect nets can be operated from the inside using zippers. Cords, pockets, and pole tunnels inside the tent are brightly colored to remain visible in low light. An instruction label is included for guidance.
Photo and viewing windows
The photo windows are larger than in previous models, measuring forty by thirty-six centimeters (40 x 36 cm). The upper section of each window also serves as a viewing window. The size can be adjusted using a zipper that opens from both sides. On the left side, there is a wide panorama window, ideal for filming or when extra space is needed. This window also contains an additional standard-sized photo window. All windows can be fully closed with high-quality zippers from both inside and outside.
The insect nets consist of two overlapping sections with elastic edges to fit snugly around the lens. They can be fully opened, for example, to use a snoot as an alternative photo window. Nets are arranged vertically or horizontally: vertical on the front and right side for height flexibility, horizontal on the left side for easier panning when filming.
Windows are placed at three different heights. The large left-side window is perfect for filming. In rainy conditions, the outer fabric can be closed, and the lens is protected by a zipper opening so photography remains possible. Unused sides can serve as viewing windows and be adjusted in size.
Carrying bag
The carrying bag has an adjustable, longer shoulder strap for easy transport. A separate compartment on top holds accessories such as stakes or guy lines.
Photographing from the tent
The wide entrance has a high-quality zipper that stays neatly to the side when opened. Behind the door is an insect mesh with camouflage pattern, keeping the tent well concealed even when slightly open. Inside, it is dark due to the black coating. The cords, pocket edges, and pole tunnels are brightly colored to remain visible in low light.
The photo windows are positioned at multiple levels:
- Two at the front, around 87 centimeters
- Left side panorama window at eye level with an additional standard photo window
- Lower left window at 36 centimeters for low-level shots
- Right side windows at around 75 centimeters
The insect nets can be fully or partially opened and fit snugly around the lens. In rainy conditions, the outer fabric can be closed while the lens is used through a zipper opening. This keeps both photographer and equipment well protected. The tent provides space for two chairs, tripods with cameras, and camera bags. At the front is a compartment for small accessories.
