This BRD-02 Nest box for sparrows is a permanent dwelling for the facade and has been specifically developed to mitigate and compensate for nesting sites of the house sparrow and other small bird species.
The nest box is designed for facade mounting and is made of durable wood concrete. The entrance hole, with a diameter of 34 mm, is optimally suited for the house sparrow but can also be used by species such as great tits and sparrows.
Application and placement
The BRD-02 Nest box for sparrows is easy to attach to the facade and is ideally suited for placement under a gutter or overhang. The nest box is supplied with 2 screws and plugs. Preferably mount the box at a height of at least 3 meters. For successful occupancy, it is recommended to place multiple boxes together, with a minimum distance of 50 cm between them (both horizontally and vertically).
The box can be used facing various wind directions. It is advised not to orient the entrance hole towards the southwest and to avoid prolonged direct sunlight. Ideal placement directions are north and east-facing walls or sheltered locations.
