This Single-layer Built-in Bat Roost Box MVL-1 from BNB Box is made of durable wood concrete. The box features a modular design and has been specially developed as a roosting place for building-dwelling bat species. It is particularly suitable for the common pipistrelle and Nathusius' pipistrelle. The box may also potentially be used by serotine bats, brown long-eared bats and pond bats.
The box is designed to be built into the masonry of a building. In combination with the BE1 bat entrance brick, the box can be fully integrated behind the masonry. Alternatively, the box can be partially incorporated into the masonry and finished at the front with brick slips.
The MVL-1 is modular and can be connected to additional modules. MVL-1C extension module can be attached to the sides and/or top. By connecting multiple elements, a larger roosting space can be created.
The designated openings are open by default, allowing for different configurations and dimensions. If the openings are not used, they can easily be closed with the supplied closure pieces. This makes the system suitable for custom solutions and situations where a larger roosting area is desired.
This version is the single-layer variant. The same model is also available in two-layer and three-layer versions.
The MVL-1 can be used as a permanent summer and mating roost for Nathusius' pipistrelle. When multiple boxes are connected vertically, it can also be used as part of the BIJ12 measures for the common pipistrelle. For situations where the dimensions specified in the BIJ12 measures for the common pipistrelle need to be specifically met, complete tall built-in bat boxes are also available.
