Product description

The BNB Box OBM-2 Wall-Mounted Bat Shelter is placed directly against an exterior wall or facade. This box has no back panel and is therefore mounted directly on the wall. Bats land on the exterior wall and then simply crawl into the box.

The OBM-2 nest box is manufactured from durable wood concrete. This material ensures good grip and a stable internal climate.

The bat box is supplied with an intumescent seal, ensuring the edges are properly sealed after installation. This contributes to better insulation and a more stable microclimate inside the box. This type of box can serve as a shelter and roosting site for various bat species and is particularly suitable as a small summer roost for building-dwelling bat species. Under favorable conditions, the box can also be used occasionally by other species and potentially function as a maternity roost for small colonies.

The box meets the minimum requirements as described in BIJ12 demands for the Nathusius's pipistrelle.

Installation OBM-2

Preferably hang the bat box as high as possible and away from artificial light. The box functions best in a sunny spot with minimal direct rain.

Thanks to the durable wood concrete, the box has a long lifespan. The opening faces downwards, allowing droppings to fall directly out of the box. As a result, the box is completely maintenance-free.
