Product description

The OBM-3 bat box is designed for the mitigation of building-dwelling bats, such as the Common Pipistrelle and the Nathusius's pipistrelle. This box from BNB Box is placed directly against an exterior wall or facade.

The box is made of durable wood concrete. This material offers bats good grip and ensures a stable indoor climate. Thanks to the back panel, the box can also be easily mounted on smooth facades and trees. As a result, the box also offers potential as a roosting site for other species, such as the Red-backed Bat.

This type of box can serve as a shelter and roosting site for various bat species and is particularly suitable as a small summer roost. The box meets the minimum requirements as described in BIJ12 demands for the Nathusius's pipistrelle. Under suitable conditions, the box can also function as an alternative roosting site for other species or as another type of roost.

Mounting

The box is easy to assemble with the included screws. Preferably place the bat box as high as possible and out of reach of artificial light. The box functions best in a sunny spot with minimal direct rain. Thanks to the durable wood concrete, the box has a long lifespan. The opening faces downwards, causing droppings to fall directly out of the box. This makes the box maintenance-free.
