The B3CHBW 3-layer high bat box is specifically designed for installation in or behind facades. The box offers a suitable roosting site for building-dwelling bats, such as ththe common pipistrelle and the Pipistrellus nathusii. Additionally, the box can also be used by Eptesicus serotinus, Myotis dasycneme, and Plecotus auritus. This makes the box both a temporary and a permanent solution for multiple bat species*.
The box is constructed from wood concrete, which ensures good grip for the animals. Thanks to the three layers, extra surface area is created, allowing more bats to stay in the box simultaneously.
For installation behind the facade, an entrance stone can be mounted. This is placed flush with the facade, while the box itself is installed in the cavity.
The box has a modular construction. This means that multiple boxes can easily be linked together by breaking open the recesses and attaching the boxes to one another. In this way, any minimum dimensional requirements can easily be met. This version is the 3-layer variant. 1-layer and 3-layer variants of this model are also available. The dimensions meet the minimum requirements for boththe common pipistrelle and the Pipistrellus nathusii, as described in the BIJ12 knowledge document for mating and summer roosts.

Installation
Hang bat boxes at a minimum height of 4 meters. Ensure there is at least 3 meters of free space in front of and below the box. Preferably place the box in a sunny location.
*Bat boxes must be ecologically adapted to the existing roosting site. In some cases, standard boxes are not sufficiently suitable. Do you have a report from an ecological consultancy? Consult this firm regarding the specific requirements for the new roosting sites.
