Product description

The BNB Box OBM-1 Wall-Mounted Bat Shelter is installed directly against an exterior wall or facade. The bat box features an entrance opening at the bottom, providing bats with access to two separate levels. The OBM-1 is constructed from durable wood concrete, ensuring sufficient grip and a stable indoor climate.

This nest box is primarily suitable as a summer roost for small building-dwelling species, such as the Common Pipistrelle and the Nathusius's pipistrelle. Under favorable conditions, the box may also be used occasionally by other species and potentially function as a maternity roost for small colonies. Consequently, this type of box offers a suitable shelter and roosting site for various bat species.

The bat box is supplied with an intumescent seal, ensuring the edges are properly sealed after installation. This contributes to better insulation and a more stable microclimate inside the box. Furthermore, thanks to the two levels, bats have more choice regarding temperature and position.

Installation

Preferably place this bat box as high as possible and away from artificial light. Bat boxes are most successful when hung in a sunny spot with minimal exposure to rain.

Thanks to the wood concrete, the box lasts a very long time. Because the opening faces downwards, droppings will fall directly out of the box. This makes the box completely maintenance-free.
