Product description

The Baton is a frequency division detector. The division factor is 10, reducing the sounds of a 50kHz bat to 5kHz. The detector picks up frequencies of 20-120 kHz. The device is lightweight, small and works with a button. The Baton has an electret broadband ultrasound microphone and uses standard 9v alkaline batteries. It runs for 30 hours on a set of batteries. External recording is possible via the output with, for example, an MP3 player. You can then analyze the sounds via the BatScan software that is included. This allows you to view and analyze sonograms afterwards.

Comes with a BatScan CD-ROM.

Heel leuk ding, je kan er mee rondlopen en je hoort de vleermuizen roepen als ze langsvliegen! Dus ideaal om ze op te sporen, uit te vinden waar en wanneer ze tevoorschijn komen etc. Helaas is soorten-identificatie (in ieder geval voor een absolute beginner) best wel lastig hiermee. Opnames ermee maken is moeilijk, omdat de line-out niet wordt herkend als microfoon door je telefoon/laptop, tenzij je een speciaal TRS naar TRRS snoertje gebruikt. Dan nog is het mij tot nu toe niet gelukt een goede kwaliteit opname te maken. De gratis bijgeleverde software waarmee je die opname dan zou moeten analyseren om de soort mee te identificeren is oud (de handleiding gaat t/m windows XP), niet gebruiksvriendelijk, en werkt alleen op een windows computer. Dus als je dit nog nooit hebt gedaan, en je doel is soorten-identificatie, zou ik deze niet aanraden - liever 1 echo meter touch dan 2 van deze.... Als je daarentegen ze op het oor kan herkennen, of als soorten identificeren niet je doel is, is deze bat-detector denk ik wel heel fijn.
